In the national capital owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks position, Jeera and turmeric prices fell further by Rs 100 per quintal.
Weakening trend in futures market and pressure on the select spice prices put by increased arrivals from producing regions. Turmeric prices dropped by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 9,800-14,300 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also drifted by Rs 100 each. Jeera common quality to conclude at Rs 14,100-14,600 and jeera best quality Rs 18,100-18,600 per quintal.
Subdued demand from retailers and stockists against higher arrivals from producing regions, mainly pulled down turmeric and jeera prices, said Marketmen.
Quotations (in Rs) on 7th Jan 2016 are Jeera common (qntl) Rs 14,100-14,600 and Jeera best (qntl) Rs 18,100-18,600.
